Regarding context: so far I have been including only her lines, but now that you mention it I wonder if it would be better to provide at least immediate context, such as the responses to her words by another character or vice versa. It would still be her sayings, but provided with additional, probably useful information. I am through Episode 10 now for all of the English versions, but going forward can start recording context lines. We could ultimately have a conservative version that has only Rei's lines and an expanded version that includes context.
As I've been working on this, I think that down the line, once the transcription is done, we should also aim to note all her appearances from start to end, including, ideally, all frames where she appears, as I mentioned before. Doing this work, I've realized that moments where she appears but silently can actually prove very important (an obvious example being the first time we see her as an apparition at the start of the series). Obviously, this would probably take some time, since I assume we both have other responsibilities, but I think it would be worth the effort. Ultimately, I'd like to make this into either a collected, single document one could download for reference or an accessible website (which may work better for supporting all the frames and different languages and editions).
This in all will likely take several years, not of continuous effort but across that time. I suppose I hope we all make it that long at least.
