I meant to say I'm not sure if the two translators for the anime and VN respectively had subtly different interpretations of several lines from each other than they translated in such a way that the same person could come to very different interpretations of the story based on whatever translation they read; or the lines were already altered from the VN in the original Japanese in the anime. Hope this time I was more succinct and clear.
Actually, some lines just come off stronger in the anime than in the VN and vice versa, you see. Here's an example from Day 3 of UBW, from before the fight with Illya and Berserker -- per the VN translation, Archer asks Rin: "…Hm. I don't imagine so, but don't tell me there's a 'special' reason for this." But in the anime he says: "Don't tell me you have feel--", before Rin interrupts him with "O-of course not!" I'm wondering if that line was slightly altered in the original Japanese or if the anime translator wanted to make it more obvious what that "special reason" is. Personally I prefer the language used in the anime translation.
