>>4438757>It's more Asuka crying for affection in a day that reminded her mother deathUsually when remembering the day when one's mother has died they spend that day mourning. The whole "You don't want to kiss a girl at the day of your mother's death?'' is just a whole new level of disrespect against the dead.
>He had the same issues with Rei (and for Rei was even harder to understand her feelings for Shinji).Considering how Rei was entirely supportive of Shinji where it was right to side with him, no. It's a clear choice if one has a perspective of ''good'' or ''evil'' which I guess the show lacked.
>Even if, it's quite implied Rei and Shinji spent a lot of time together in the last episodes (see ep22 or when Toji understands Rei is worried about Shinji)Or when Asuka says ''I've lost'' when seeing Rei and Shinji talking at the metro.
It also comes down to that both Rei and Asuka seek Shinji's affection and love, but who's attempts cause him more pain? Both good and evil fight to be in control of man but by the fruits you can tell which is which. An immortal being offering an eternity of peace in paradise or a mortal offering a unstable relationship in hell of your own making.
Asuka is a sinking ship if you try to save it you'll sink with it.
