At first, I was just like some others in the thread, thinking at first that having a waifu was some silly thing foreveralone people did to fit in. I picked up Oreimo simply because I liked the character designs and for some reason immediately fell for Manami. Maybe it was her doting attitude, or the fact she was so "normal" compared to the others. When her episode rolled around, I watched a jealous Kirino constantly setting up the MC by laying his porn around and rigging his computer with an H-Game. I thought this would turn into the typical "Eeek, you're a pervert!". Instead, Manami was willing to accept all of these "flaws" without even questioning them. Even asking MC if he wanted her to call him Onii-chan after seeing the imouto game.
Then there was scene where she indirectly confesses to him and gets turned down. It made this huge pit in my heart, thinking that of all the people in this animeand others, she deserves to be loved above all else. I watched the rest of the series thinking to myself that I wish she would have gotten the ending she deserved. Months later, even after the anime was over, I still found myself thinking about her. Eventually I had only one thing on my mind, I wished I could love her and give her all the things she deserves. It was then I realized I had a waifu.
