Kenmomo Friends had to cost mere pennies on the dollar with the shit-tier cel-shaded animation, yet it utterly exploded in popularity and had to have made a lot of cash.
That ratio of cash invested vs. cash made has to be too good for a company to pass up.
Hopefully Season 2 will get done in decent-looking traditional animation, like Season 1 deserved but didn't get.
