>>4117304Beautiful, but drawing her with Asuka is a pretty surface-level connection that may or may not reveal a lack of knowledge about the character. Not dissing Asuka. Just reading too much into it as usual. Also the torsos seem REALLY long but that's probably a stylistic choice.
>>4117309I learned it through the old then-/jp/-accepted method of using the Core 2k/6k deck in Anki for vocabulary and Tae Kim's guide for grammar. Regardless of whatever anyone says, it is a good method that works. Core 2k/6k SUCKS though.
Besides learning Hiragana and Katakana in high school I'd say my active studying period (studying every day for on average 30min-1hour) was about 2 years. First year was mostly just Core 2k/6k and Tae Kim. Second year I started reading manga and playing games in Japanese and created my own Anki deck.
Specifically for the most important manga/games I consumed, here's a list from memory:
Yotsuba -> Yuyushiki -> Fate/Extra (too hard, gave up) -> Fire Emblem Fates -> SMTIV Apocalypse -> FGO -> Fate/Extra (Success!) -> Fate/Extra CCC. CCC wasn't really about learning anymore though. I pretty much had it learned by then. That was at the end of 2018.
Also lots of browsing of Futaba/5ch and watching anime without subs. I especially watched Kara no Kyoukai with learning in mind.
This made me check my old Anki deck that I haven't used in years. Coincidentally it looks like the first card that I added was in July 2015 exactly 7 years ago today. The last one was in April 2018. 80% of the 8000 cards that I created my deck from were added in 2016.
