Not only is she burned (the reasons vary), her whole appeal is she really wants to be cute, and is so happy it's almost annoying.
Nice Holystone from Baccano! is also worth a mention, she basically tried homebrewing a bomb and had it fail horribly. Characters who act like the scars mean absolutely nothing are awesome, and I envy their resolve.
