>>2916819I remember reading somewhere that the Bear motiv was added very late into the production purely by the force of Yoshitoshi ABe. Don't remember where I heard that but it would make sense considering it wasn't really in the game at all that I can remember. It is cute but I just felt it didn't match Lain or have any symbolism like other things did. It would of made more sense just to do more with Bike chan since it's in the game and the manga but not really in the show. It's colors are more muted and desaturated as well which I personally like more than the use of brown.
And yeah her avatar outfit does look vaguely religious. This could tie into the fact that Lain is a god of the wired.
