When the first compliment most anons give to other anons' waifus is that they are "cute", but in my months here, I haven't seen that once for my Sheik. So I think it's pretty obvious that they try to find other ways of talking positive about her. I don't mind that they think that though. Sheik does have a different look than most girls, especially in OoT. So again, I appreciate the kind words!

Unless you are specifically refering to OoT and SSBM Sheik, Sheik does NOT have short hair. I'll post an image showcasing what I mean here. She has a very long braided ponytail wrapped in bandages and a metal tip at the end. I like both designs, short hair and long hair, but that braided ponytail has really grown on me. It's hard imagining her without it now.
