I don't like how the characters speak in action-packed stereotypical DBZ-like anime, so I usually only watch slice of life ones that don't have these moments in which the characters are shocked and emit sounds of choking for half a minute.
You have to work on your reading skills if you have to pause to read the subtitles though.
