They're just such toxic fucked up losers that they deserve each other. Besides the whole show is basically about overcoming your fears and opening up to people, if they can learn to do that with each other they might have hope yet. I guess I found that to be my conciliatory thought at the end of the movie, I figured maybe they'll be alright if they learned anything from the past year.
