Of the threads that have been created since this one (going to the catalog and sorting by creation date), and have character names as subject, four of them have the Japanese order:
>Shiina Mayuri>Kanzaki Ranko>Tainaka Ritsu>Nakano Azusaand two of them have the English order:
>Nui Harime>Mashiro MitsumineI don't think there's a recency bias since there are older threads with Japanese order too (e.g. Misaka Mikoto, Kaname Madoka, Konoe Kanata).
At best you could say that it's mixed, with no strong preference one way or other.
Point taken about subtitles though, I haven't used them for some time, so I can believe that conventions may have changed since.
