>>2115473A fair rebuttal. And much more balanced than simply going on the attack in response due to someone who says something you disagree with. While you may not have meant it in such a tone, the only way we have to read tone over the Net is through the context of vocabulary and punctuation. The format of your post makes it almost sound like a White Knight rushing to Rei's defense. And the tone is obviously oppositional and not a little defiant and defensive.
While that minor point has been refuted, it still does not undermine the larger part of my argument I was using the point you refuted as a supporting point. Namely, that each entity known as Ayanami Rei is a separate entity, capable of self-determination and making her own choices. As a result, because each Clone's experiences are different, it would follow that over time, the experiences that make up each Clone's outlook on life, would shape the personality she develops differently.
The fact that the punctuative (Namely, the ellipses) and vocabulary ( >"What, exactly, makes you think..." ) tone of your sentence were shaped as such to a minor point in my larger point-to-be-made practically screams at defensiveness. It would be like me speculating that, because your mother served homemade enchiladas, that she had some contact with a hispanic cook sometime in her life, and you decided I had called her a Beaner. Even assuming my speculation about Rei was wrong, it doesn't negate the theory about each Clone having the potential to form a different personality. Getting so worked up about such a minor point, I'll say it again, makes you look Defensive.
And on the last bit, namely
> is demeaning to Rei's character y'see. She's an anime character. My point still stands. Speculation about her isn't going to lead to initiating Third Impact. Lighten up, Rei doesn't need a White Knight to protect her virtue and honor.
