>>2200983one of the worst things about the "lucid dreaming" fad on the internet is the proliferation of false advice and other shit-tier 'surefire' methods to trigger lucid dreams. the very notion of lucidity itself stands against the escapism one seeks in a dream, IMO, since in a lucid state you're aware that you're dreaming. i'm aware that many people are into the whole take control of your dreams spiel though, so if i had to recommend a method i'd stay stick to the dream journal or WILD or DILD (look those up). i'm a fan of the dream journal method myself since it builds your ability to remember your dreams and makes it possible for you to track patterns. for those unaware, the "dream journal" basically involves making notes on your dreams while you can still remember them. in my experience "being aware" of how you dream makes it much easier to sense the telltale patterns while dreaming to bring on a lucid state. conversely, many people claim that an added effect of the dream journal method is the ability to write the plot of your own dreams. at the risk of bordering on pseudoscience i believe some sort of crosstalk between the language center of the brain and the dream response when you attempt to put the oft ineffable ideas and sensations you experience while dreaming into words. by linking your language process w/ the dream response it wouldnt be unlikely for you to write a "dream" for yourself in the dream journal and actually experience some variation of it.
