>>3846143>They are not artificial prostheses, you maimedwit with single-digit age, they are bodies made of flesh.>When you are made to study this subject in school, they will explain to you that there is DNA inside every single cell of a bodyIn EVA they effectively are artificial prostheses, since you have an actual, tangible and manipulable object with the soul though. The body, flesh and all, is a physical presence sure, but without a soul, they're nothing. Here from episode 23, in reference to the Reiquarium:
>Ritsuko: These are just dummies, and nothing more than spare parts for Rei.>Ritsuko: Man found God and in their joy, tried to make Him theirs.>Ritsuko: That's why there was divine Retribution.>Ritsuko: That was fifteen years ago.>Ritsuko: The god they found had also disappeared by then.>Ritsuko: But then they tried to resurrect God on their own. The result was Adam.>Ritsuko: ...and imiating God, they created people from Adam. The result was the Eva.>Ritsuko: The only vessel that contained a soul was Rei. She was the only one born with a soul.>Ritsuko: The chamber of Guf was empty, you see. The things here that look like Rei have no souls. They're just vessels. It's put very clear in my opinion, the Rei clones in the tank are just that, spare parts for Rei, empty vessels Rei can go into if her current body dies.
>>3846151Not him but what does timeloop theory have to do with anything? That's something spinoffs, in particular Khara spinoffs brought on. The original EVA, along with it's additional materials and so on, there aren't any references to a timeloop. The timeloop thing is mostly something you'll find in bad fanfiction, now Rebuild as well unfortunately.
