It'd be much easier if you stopped denying that Rei is shown to be weaker than the original. Softer, cuter, less introspective. If we include Rei Q it just gets worse. It's a nightmare of having Rei compared to a puppet.

Yes it might be helpful "in the end" that Rei is in there as a final host of power, but have you ever heard the expression, "the chase is better than the catch" ? The most important part isn't the ending or the final endgame. The buildup is. With 2.0, we got poka Rei, which would be necessary to build further, either break her down a bit or build her up for the final movie. 3.0 doesn't do either, but relegates her to the role of "the shadow of Yui".
At this point, it doesn't matter if Rei gets out of EVA01. It's just going to be some sort of cathartic fanservice since the damage is already done.

>>2177282>Really. Neither version did jack shit against Zeruel. Rei got through Zeruel's AT field, and didn't get absorbed and imprisoned by it. Plus nobody expected or ordered Rei to go out against Zeruel, even Gendo is sad/worried - this was Rei's time to show she followed her own cause without orders. This time, not as much.
I can complain right now very much. You're in for disappointment.
