Fact is, "Nixies", "Smileys" and what-not have been around since before the internet and he simply won't accept that something like that exists.
That and he needs to get out of the basement, take a bath and get meaningful employment. His parents should stop enabling his anti-societal behavior as well. The last thing that the world needs is another neurotic basket-case.
