Somewhere along the line, the world takes that way from you and makes you feel like you need to constantly fight and compete for the title of "perfect". Your passions begin to make you break out in cold sweat, and your mind becomes overwhelmed by thoughts of other people, supposedly better than you (by whatever arbitrary metric your perfectionist mind makes up). I feel as if one can truly spite the world if they can unlearn that feeling without becoming complacent. Finding true joy in one's work (whatever it may be), but striving to improve without any cruel self-criticism and unrealistic expectations.
