>>2218223Well, the goal when posting on a different board is to make sure they can't pick you out too easily. 4channers from other boards are way better at this than outsiders, but they do sometimes forget that different boards have different rules and customs and they need to go back to lurk mode for a while before participating. From what I've seen the other boards seem more accepting of the casual board browser than /a/ does as well, /tv/ just kinda accepted that the BrBa finale would completely destroy the board (which it absolutely did) and /vp/ didn't mind the influx of /v/ around XY release nearly as much as they did Serebii and Bulbapedo. But I'm relatively homeless so I may be a bit biased on the subject.
As to the "pathetic virgin nerd losers" crowd, they are on every board I've seen and are universally despised on all of them. Please don't attribute them to any specific board, even /s4s/ is slightly more intelligent in their general shitposting. It's the same response whether it's to waifu talk, why am I such a shit, or >tfw no gf and it's hard to see them as anything other than trolls.
I enjoy being able to joke about >having friends, and it just doesn't go over as a joke as much in an environment where some people take it seriously. Maybe it comes back to the idea that good parody is indistinguishable from sincere belief and a community that ironically does something will inevitably be overtaken by newfags who think it's serious. I guess the only thing to be done about it is ceaselessly call them out on their faggotry while contributing quality post of your own.
>>2218225I'm a fan of longer, well thought out post. Though it can be disheartening knowing that most people will probably tl;dr it. I think small boards are a bit better about that when they don't try to stick to pure image dumping boredom.
