The only point with any validity in your moronic comment is the last, namely that Rei wouldn't date anyone. The evidence in the series suggests Rei has some kind of romantic feelings for Shinji, however it seems unlikely they would ever become a couple since Shinji is too juvenile for any kind of relationship.
