One of my favorite aspects of Gunslinger Girl is that eventually you realize that none of the girls are actually aware of what they're fighting for.
None of them show any real detailed knowledge concerning the terrorist's goals and ideals or how their actions effect the country nor do they seem to care that much; all they care about is impressing their respective handlers by killing as many terrorists possible.
Remember that one scene where Henrietta is excitedly talking about how her monthly body count is higher than Triela's or where Angelica asks Rico to let her get a kill? Fucking good shit. I love Gunslinger Girl, it's both adorable and horrifying, it's adorrifying!
