>>2961428Of course the villains shouldn't be incompetent; I didn't say that. My issue is that there seems to be an appreciable disparity of effectiveness at work, because all the heroes do is struggle with scarce or no payoff while the villains tommyknock about unmolested and sooner or later get everything they want. Nothing good ever seems to stick or have any consequences, so what good are heroes if the best they can manage only delays something worse?
And at least when Reaper loses, he gets to be menacing and have the heroes on the ropes at some point; when Tracer loses, the villain hardly breaks a sweat. And it's not just the act that bothers me, it's the context. In the broader scheme of things, nothing she's accomplished matters. Her entire career is a moot point. I'm a big Tracer fan, so of course it's going to get me a little surly, and I'll be the first to admit I can't approach this scenario unbiased.
I don't mean to turn this into a discussion, but that's just how I feel and I gotta get it out of my system. I'm not unreasonable. I don't expect anything on par with Tennessee Williams or even Tennessee Ernie Ford for that matter; I just want it to be fulfilling.
