Doesn't help that most of /a/ would rather watch an anime than play a game or read a manga and the anime wasn't very great. I lurked the BKG threads for too long assuming that there was an overall prejudice towards her for being popular. Still seems that way from the occasional anon but most people are nicer to her than i expected. I've been posting her since 2009 now I think long before the BKG threads, 2 years before i even played the game. She probably is near the top she's the right amount of genki to not be annoying but still be fun for most.
the threads probably died down as a result of the anime taking a year between seasons, at least that's how I'd seen it they sorta surged again with the 2nd season but not as much. The audience was definitely bigger when people thought it was the new clannad.
