I probably would have saved it for after the events of the series, since I wouldn't want to change history too much. Maybe I'd meet her in Kamakura after she got into music school, eventually moving into the inn she lives at and getting to know her better there, eventually confessing to her and telling her how wonderful I think she is once we've gotten to know eachother. Proposing to her is something I would do after watching one of her performances and inviting her to have dinner with me at a fancy restaurant.
