>>2291003>The original idea is from Anno. So? Rome wasn't built by the man who had the original idea of it. It was built by several people, just like NGE was. Sadamoto put ideas into NGE. Many people put their own ideas into it, Anno directed it.
The manga is Sadamoto's own story, and the anime is Anno, Sadamoto and a whole range of people's story. Mostly Anno it would seem.
Two canon stories, both which actually end up adapting from the other.

Sadamoto drew a long-haired woman that resided inside EVA01, before the anime. That was adapted into NGE later.
It's rude of you to assume I'm trolling. I'm really not, the manga arose at the same time as the original, when the final episodes and everything else was yet to be written.
Anime finishes first by more than a decade.
They're both original works, they are THE original Evangelion works. NGE is the main work however. But remember, even the manga came before NGE - by a month or so.
