Enjoy what you want and pay no attention to others if they don't share the same opinions as you. You're not expected to like a certain thing because other people like it, just have fun and stop hating people for liking something you don't like.
Also side note, merch gets made to make money, they're not making it out of love and there is no other reason behind it.
