However i can't see Rei being happy if someone brought up her origin. She knows about lilith but she's really afraid of her and tries not to think about it (source ep26).
However my point was that to make Rei happy you better say her that you like her because she's a cool girl that does everything the best and is very nic, rather than to say that she's a cool alien clone.
And besides, theres idea that she hates red because it's the color of her unnatural eyes.
