Rossmann deserves more love.
Rossmann was a sharp-eyed sniper who developed long-range tactics on the Eastern Front. He was weak of body, and thus suffered in close-range engagements. Rossmann nevertheless developed his own tactics, and sniped over 100 kills at impossibly long range.
If Rossmann were of sound body, his kill count would have been immeasurably higher. He often flew in pairs with Krupinski, flying overwatch while Krupi manhandled enemy planes in stomach-churning, high-G turning dogfights.
Rossmann was a legendary trainer of aces, with Hartmann being is most stellar student.
