This is exactly the sort of otaku behavior that Anno is mocking and trying to stop when he writes Evangelion. Having Rei Q have no personality and not even be the real Rei is an example of this, he is trying to disservice fans. By fawning over Rei and trying to run away from reality, you are doing the very thing the message of Evangelion tells you not to.
And you might even be pissing Anno off enough to give 4.0 a bad ending. He would have to do a lot to make 4.0 good, yet you know he won't pass up an opportunity to troll you.
