>>2115507>Once again, I'm more akin to view it in the same vein I would an AI, since Rei is effectively a Bioengineered Being, or more accurately, a Biological Artificial Intelligence.Hm, that doesn't make any kind of sense whatsoever. AI's are a completely different ballpark, and Rei being a bioengineered being does not carry the implication of AI. What exactly makes you use the term AI? To be honest this is actually one of those "demeaning" things I talked about earlier.
But it's obviously true that when Rei adopts a different body, she will change based on that. Memories, hormone levels, knowledge, everything plays their part, so this isn't something I even consider up for debate. However, in NGE you also have the soul, which apparently carries feelings and an unknown set of abilities - that means that nature fundamentally trumps nurture in Evangelion, although just like in real life, nurture remains extremely important.
>flawsThat would be assuming there is a flaw in the first place, some kind of error. This isn't flattering from a technical standpoint, it is from a conceptual standpoint. Why would you believe something about Rei to be true, when there's nothing to indicate it, and the context basicaly tells you the whole story that contradicts it? What I mean is that there is no point demeaning a character, in saying she isn't capable of something. That isn't a flaw in the character, that is a flaw you've invented.
People regularly invent flaws for Rei, all according to their own interests.
