>>2078182>the only thing I've seen that's been lost is when Ritsu is teaching Mio she'll sound more confident if she adds "you know" at the end of her sentences. instead of "you know" she tells Mio to end her sentences with "dude"I can explain this, it's one of things that doesn't translate very well. In Japanese there are different types of speech, such as polite speech. If you listen to Ritsu in Japanese you will notice that alot of the sounds associated with polite, feminine speech are missing. This is because she uses masculine speech, some of the other characters tell her that she sounds like an old man and that's why. In the scene were she tries to get Mio to be more confident, what she actually tells her is to stop speaking like a little girl and sound more like a man. It doesn't really translate so the sub and dub went with what they did. It is brought up again when Ritsu and Mio reherse for the class play, when they act as eachother, what they are doing is swapping speech style. I think I have explained that correctly anyway as I'm not a fluent Japanese speaker.
