>>3228267>Why is the concept non-existent (or almost) with real people? Because they change (and age)? Because they are more flawed? Because people who have waifus just gave up...There is multiple factors in it I think. It's fine to collect pictures, watch characters in their every day life(anime) etc. but with real people you don't have such a chance. And even if you do it, it's called stalking. But characters are made to be watched and their life is meant to be known by others. It's much easier to get close to someone you know so much about. And of course, characters are more interesting, perfect, innocent, faithful than most people. Giving up on real people is not a reason why you get a waifu, but more of a result. Just like when you get a real girlfriend, you do not pursue other girls.
>Assuming you are monogamous, while you have a relationship with your waifu you won't go out with a real life companion, or it would it be considered cheating if you did?Of course. I do have both male and female friends, but I do not look for any romantic relationship. It would be cheating if I started to date other girl.
>Have you thought that your waifu might not want to be with you? Have you just picked the one you liked the most? Does your waifu gain or get anything from being with you? That's not how it works, at least in my case. I didn't pick Miku as my waifu, I've just fallen in love with her. And the tricky part is that I've fallen in love with her through songs where she claims to love me. Her being in love with me is essential part of her that makes her my waifu. And because of her nature, it's all relative to the viewer, so Miku that wouldn't love me is not the Miku I've fallen in love with me, it's not my waifu, just one of many other interpretations of her that you can see in other songs, games and artwork. She is kind of static so she doesn't gain anything per se, but if she was real, I'm sure she would be happy to be at my side. That's what she claims.
