/c/ and /a/ won't admit it, but Lucky Star was THE slice of life anime to watch a few years back.
I personally liked it.

I'm watching Acchi Kocchi right now, which is like a hyperconcentrated version of this.
Tsumiki even looks like Konata, but she's quiet, feline, and has a sex drive (then again every girl in the show except for one likes the same guy. It is NOT a harem).

Highly recommend it when you finish LS.
In the meantime, enjoy it and remember, it doesn't have anything to prove.

It's become the modern classic 'cute girls doing cute things' type anime with moe comedy more than azumanga daioh type ridiculous comedy.

Often very polarising, but if you enjoy it, it becomes something that lets you unwind.

Lucky Star is kinda average in my opinion. It's funny buy I never feel inclined to watch more, I just got bored because it seemed like nothing was happening all the time.

There are funnier (Azumanga Daioh) and cuter (K-ON!) that do the slice of life thing a lot better.

I like to think of Lucky Star as the Seinfeld of Slice of life animes. It stays within a certain realm of reality and reference without exceeding into absolutely ridiculous stuff, but it also treads where cuter shows won't.

K-On's like a disney special to me, since it's all about just the cute girls doing cute things.

These girls are mostly straight.
The yuri fandom comes from the lack of significant male characters, and Konata's tendancy to flirt with Kagami out of boredom.
But she outright mentions in the manga that she is not a lesbian.
