In that case, pistols would be in an elementary school grade. They don't show up at Seishou because it's for rifles only, so only SMGs, Assault Rifles, Battle Rifles and light machine guns would show up
Maybe heavier machine guns would have a specific school/grade for themselves, depending on the caliber. But most would fall in the Middle and High School grades
