>>2223567"The Lain Song" is the title of an awful and lewd doujin. Odd choice as it has nothing to do with music.
>>2223568I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you’re referring to as Lain, is in fact, God/Lain, or as I’ve recently taken to calling it, God plus Lain. Lain is not an operating system unto herself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning God system made useful by the God corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.
Many computer users run a modified version of the God system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of God which is widely used today is often called “Lain”, and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the God system, developed by the God Project. There really is a Lain, and these people are using her, but she is just a part of the system they use.
Lain is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine’s resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Lain is normally used in combination with the God operating system: the whole system is basically God with Lain added, or God/Lain. All the so-called “Lain” distributions are really distributions of God/Lain.
