Yes, all the girls within the club have some sort of feelings for Kyon, however Haruhi has that god-tier power and can subconsciously wish for them to be together. Kyon does have that unspoken power to witness all events, but has to make sure that Haruhi is satisfied. Kyon though being satisfied being challenged by the events that follow in the series, he doesn't want to live without the hardships the SOS Brigade has brought. Haruhi on the other hand became curious of Kyon from the inspiration he gave to her dull life. During the endless eight, they both don't get much time to have meaningful conversation. After she is done doing what was on her list, she is unsatisfied. Once they all get together to finish the summer homework which wasn't suppose to be a group activity, she wanted in even though she was already done. When you look at it as a whole, there chemistry is perfect.
