I was stationed at Yokota when a Mormon objected to the Torii gates that were used for the signs around the base. Torii gates are a sign of welcome and respect in Japan. But to the Mormon, they were the worshiping of a false religion.
Needless to say, even though there were no complaints from the majority, one moron^H^H^H^H^H Mormon changed the appearance of Yokota forever.
