I'm inclined to stick with V6s because they're more "classic," and available/older. Chihaya is a total nerd, though, so it's possible that she'd spend for the more expensive models.
I think in one of the anniemay episodes she's using a pair that look suspiciously similar to Stax electrostats. Helly jelly. Even used those things are closer to a thousand USD than not, although word is that Stax run leaner than the Koss electrostats (reportedly more nuetral/slightly warm). The Koss unit is also (slightly) cheaper; you (or I) could get a used pair for around 500, or a new set for 800-1000 depending on retailer and their mood.
