Since the thread is over, I guess I can answer a bit of that.
There are Kirino dere scenes cut from the anime but it's not a whole lot. At the same time there are a lot of Kirino tsun scenes added to the anime that weren't in the LN at all. The portrayal of Kirino in the anime is just overly negative and this much should be completely obvious by the time you hit volume 3 and compare it to what happened in the anime instead. The portrayal in the anime gets even worse as time goes on because she does improve but the anime continues to show off tsun for no reason (look at the first scene of S2).
As for the other girls, yes, they're A LOT more bitchy in the LN. That has to do with the fact that the anime staff wanted to make Kirino look as bad/tsun as possible. The fact that they were massive Kuroneko fans also helped too.
You'll also notice things like Kyousuke being a dick in the LN too. In fact, he almost hits her in volume 2 but instead gets slapped or something by Kirino (in the anime Kirino does that for no reason).
Like I said, go ask /a/ about it. I think they had an image of the differences between volume 3 in the LN and in the Anime and that's a damn good example of the differences in general between both of them.
