Which was the whole point. She was against wanting to be God saying she couldn't be God, there was a Real World God, and against Eri believing he was God, which is why Eri couldn't force himself back a body after lain questioned him about it and his power.
Imo Lain is a saint of the internet or angel for staying true to the Real God and having God himself show up to her and say those words "you love them right?" which is exactly what God wants people to do.
