The anime is also quite shit, but because the game is a huge money-spinner, it has been renewed for a second season and a movie. Maybe those will be better because the premise of the source material actually has potential, but we're not holding our breath. Many of us are just in it for the abundance of cute shipgirls and arguing in the Kantai Collection "general" on /a/ about WW2 naval history.
