Mirror mirror, on the wall, who’s the smuggest of them all? It’s Homura! Homura Akemi! She’s the smuggest of them all! Rightly so; Homura understands that no other magical girls or 2D girls can compare to her, and her radiance.
But what is it that makes Homura so radiant, and so lovely? What makes HER the greatest meguca of all time? It’s simple; she has an endurance and vitality to her feelings that no other girl can match. Homura is the embodiment of devotion, and that’s why we make these threads – as a small reflection of that devotion, back towards her.

http://magireconews.net/news/3676/ Homu wins most popular meguca in a MadoMagi girl only poll. This was after scoring second to Shinobu at Madogatari during year of the Kizu and scoring second to Madoka in a general magical girl poll.

Almost done with Kamen Rider Mado... I mean Gaim. Can easily see some of the elements from the final arc showing up in the next project if Urobuchi is still writing. >You can't give up on friends who betray you The difference though is the guy in Gaim who this refers to is actually an unlikable asshole.

>>2897969 This is why I am optimistic about Homura not dying in the next project despite all the predictions with her and Madoka departing together from this world and into the LoC. With the latter removed from existence in ep 12 the only main character left at the time to carry on with the story was of course Homura, knowledge of past events included. (or else it would have been a complete reset ending for her character, a very bad thing when there is really no one else for the audience to follow by the time of the tv series end)
By now having Homura die would make for a bad end unlike the bittersweet trend up until now, and a bad end after all those years for this franchise would be just about the worst possible idea from Magica Quartet.

>>2898096 >This is why I am optimistic about Homura not dying in the next project despite all the predictions with her and Madoka departing together from this world and into the LoC. I think most people go for that ending because it's a decent place holder ending if you're optimistic. Wraith Arc fleshing out the purpose of the wraiths and their behavior along with the Swan Lake stuff seemed to make this ending more likely as well. I personally think they depart AS the LoC or new concept rather than Homura being taken into it. The LoC for meguca in the InuCurry Rebellion book is describe as just falling asleep forever and WA shows Madoka fighting her lonely, eternal battle. Homura's focus in the concept movie is on Madoka loneliness and separation, so there's absolutely no way Homu would ever just go with Madoka so she can rest while Madoka spends eternity carrying that burden. Likewise, Madoka wouldn't be happy knowing Homura is carrying that burden, even if Homura is able to control the LoC herself with the earring cuff. If you can't prevent the one you love from suffering, may as well suffer together to lighten the load.

>>2898096 I may have said it around these parts before, but the reason I think this is not how it is gonna end is because that is pretty much the ending teased in the trailer for Rebellion but then so to say subverted in the actual film -- just to be clear: nothing to do with the misinformation you can still see around, that Rebellion's conclusion was changed at the last minute.
That said, I get what you were saying, and also I could well be wrong about it too. I sure hope for a happy ending with Homura alive and well like the other anon said, though.

https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B02P_mK_-am1YXpjUGRfMkZVNVU If you look at the image named "Concept Notes", a guy I follow on Twitter found this notes page on the concept movie right before the Shaft logo comes up. He took some time and filled in what is legible. Basically it's going to a plot revolving around 3 intertwinned fates, with Homura, Madoka, and a mysterious and emotionless 3rd side (Kyubey??) who will serve as a plot device to bring about conflict. Madoka wants Homura to stop lying to her and get along while 3rd side is actively lying to turn Madoka against Homura while also claiming they're there to save Madoka.

>>2898254 >>2898787 And what's worse regarding the people making up stuff about Rebellion is that this isn't even the only such instance. See: the recurring complaints about the flower field scene where it's pretty clear that Madoka talks about what she would feel about having to part from her family and friends under ANY and all circumstances, but then stupid people always manage come from the woodwork to say that those wouldn't be her true feelings because of the fact she didn't remember the actual circumstances in which she made her wish. IMO that's the worst of the two even if it seems to be not as widespread as the "Rebellion ending changed by $hinbo" one.

>>2898874 While I do believe there's more nuance in that scene, people get the idea that the Law of Cycles was some fan fiction heaven where everyone just chills out. It's easy to believe Madoka is isn't telling the truth if you believe that. Despite everything to the contrary in episode 12 and Rebellion. Madoka was lonely and held the universe on her shoulders. If these people wouldn't do something rash to save their best friend, sibling, spouse, or child from something oike that, then I don't know what to say.

>>2898881 >people get the idea that the Law of Cycles was some fan fiction heaven where everyone just chills out. It's easy to believe Madoka isn't telling the truth if you believe that. Despite everything to the contrary in episode 12 and Rebellion. Yeah, that helps explaining most of it if not making it any more palatable. It did take Homura a moment to think back and reflect on the flashback scene (the one set at school in episode 1) after hearing about Madoka's feelings in Rebellion to realize how much Madoka had suffered due to her wish, despite her denying it in the space hug scene.
That said, the uproar through all these years about the flower field scene seems to be more of an attention span problem from viewers who failed to catch on the realization by Homura that Madoka hadn't been so daijoubu after all. Unlike the 'last minute change' rumour, that one is 100% fabrication, most likely originated from viewers dissatisfied with the ending and then perpetuated up until today by I'm guessing confirmation bias from when they read the interviews and then parrot it on their blogs or wherever else.

Madoka's character song is literally about her lying about her feelings and forcing a smile while saying good bye.
