I'm not /mu/ either so expect some inconsistent jargon usage or lack thereof.
Black Metal in my opinion is a bad genre of music and here's why.
If you were to classify all types of guitary "rock" music into a spectrum of grindiness you can plot out the different genres of metal onto it.
The "blacker" the music gets the more it turns into random noisy grinding that's just plain unenjoyable to listen to.
Metalheads claim that the chords are "layered and complex" but IMO it just sounds like a noisy clusterfuck.
I could bet that none of you could hum along the "tune" of "Future Breed Machine" from memory, because there just isn't any structured one to follow, it's all just grinding and smashing.
Lyrics in general also sound like a middle-aged man taking a shit in front of a microphone or a pig squealing as it's being castrated, and contain as much angst and edge as the average middle school class room.
Some people might enjoy that kind of music, but I certainly don't.
On a different note, Metalheads, especially of the Black variety seem like a bunch of obnoxious morons to me.
The kind that parade around how edgy and complex and deep their muddy slog is and can't accept that not everyone shares their niche "taste".
The few Metalheads I've had the displeasure of encountering were either angsty edgelords or arrogant shitheads.
As you stated, this is 4chan, why should I put effort into arguing out my opinion if I expect to receive single line replies from exactly those arrogant shitheads anyway?
Better to just throw a single line in there calling it trash because it saves energy and they usually don't deserve anything more than that.
