It’s late at night where I am, making thread 76. A waxing Gibbous hangs out high during this solar noon, but it doesn’t grab my attention. My mind goes elsewhere, to the place it normally does as I get ready to wind down and go to sleep. I think, as I get ready to sleep, of Homura Akemi.

Even the mundane things like sleep and seeing the moon up above must’ve taken on a sinister shine. With each night of rest, I’m sure the worst sort of dreams came back to her mind. With each phase of the moon that slipped by, the grand villain of the magical girl world grew closer. These thoughts, of acute terror and pressure; did they ever subside for her?

I like to believe that somewhere – no, somewhen – tired purple eyes relaxed behind heavy pale lids, and peace came to Homura as she slept. I like to believe that for one evening, in at least one time loop, she lay still, with not a single dark hair on her head moving. I like to believe that for one moment, Homura lay as still as her glasses on the nightstand next to her, and she felt at ease with the work she did.

When Homura dreams, may she dream only sweet dreams in a sweet sleep. Post best girl here
