I love Nirvana. I think it's a shitty band and Kurt Cobain wasn't that great of a musician or singer, but goddamn did he have passion. I was like five or six when he died, and I had no idea who Nirvana was at the moment, so I never had a chance to watch him play live, but I wish I could.
I remember watching a video on the internet of Nirvana playing live in a bar in Europe, in 1990/91 probably. Before they started playing "Molly's Lips" Kurt said "This song has two chords, this chord *plays chords* and this chord *plays second chord*" Krist started playing the bassline, and then the 3 of them completely rocked the song and I was amazed how something so simple could sound so awesome.
It inspired me to buy a guitar at a swap meet. $50 for an Ibanez RG with a cracked neck and a Gorilla 20watt amp. It's been more than 10 years, and it's still the only guitar equipment i own (i bought tons of other stuff through the years but ended up selling it) but I will keep forever my first guitar and amp. I still remember how to play lots of the songs Kurt wrote. It's always great fun playing them. It's not about the level of skill, as long as you have passion it will sound good.
It's funny I picked up Keion because I thought it was an anime about music, but the light music club girls earned my heart with their sweetness.
