These started out on /g/ in a retro desktop environment thread. Cute girls with minimum color pallets (usually under 20) that are reminiscent of early 90s graphics. Some found the aesthetics to be pleasing so I will share them here.

You can make your own in gimp or photoshop by saving a file in indexed mode (in PS this will happen automatically for save for web png and gif). Select a low color palette, and type of ditther you like.
