If the moon were to stop its revolution around the Earth (the country of the Gems), it would crush into it and destroy it (and heirmself along with it). So hse has to move, because Cinnabar cares a lot about/is attracted to the other gems.
Sorry, I can only describe this it abstract or mechanical terms. Maybe the fact that I can so easily parse heirm character in those terms is (in part) why I am attracted to Cinnabar. Hse was the easiest character to understand.
But like I said, I don't actually know.
