After seeing the episode it was better than I expected, they made it seem like Ichigo outright rejected Goro, but after the last few episodes with her trying to confess to Hiro by saying she saw him like a brother, it makes sense she would say she loved Goro and thanked him for being her partner instead.
At least something happened and the cards are on the table.
I think the real problem though is if they decide to start doing every single character growth one after another it's going to get very tedious considering the last 4 episodes haven't accomplished much to progress the plot.
They really should have had a more overarching plot going on throughout the last 5 or so episodes. What's the goal here, just protect plantations, outright destroy the klaxosaurs or what.
