>>3211080I stopped at episode 51 and it's at about episode 60 now, for context. The problem I have with it is that it doesn't have the usual Yugioh flair. I haven't watched much Yugioh outside of Season Zero, most of the original Yugioh, some GX, some Arc-V, and a few movies, but all of those had crazy shit going on that was hilarious and entertaining.
Vrains, on the other hand, strives to be as boring as possible with every single character in the cast, even the villains, outside of an outlier or two. The characters never really get together and talk to each other, either. Basically every single character is a lone wolf. The duels are a slog, too, since we never really get to peer into the characters' thoughts, they just play their cards, explain what they do, and react to what the opponent plays. And the overarching story is relatively weak, as well.
Sorry, I shouldn't really be starting/having this discussion on a /c/ thread. It just makes me sad that they could get the Yugioh formula so wrong. At least Aoi is cute.
