She has some form of connection with them even going as far to refer to them as friends and suggesting that her "mushroom friends" approved of her metal song and how they "look happy" despite fungi having no such emotions. On top of personifying them as humans, Syoko has an obsessive extensive knowledge of every mushroom and will seemingly always use mushrooms as metaphors when speaking to her friends. An example being grabbing Sachiko's legs and mentioning how they feel soft like "eryngii."
